Thank you to everyone who submitted for a leadership position within our team. Terry and I are very grateful to have so many motivated students. This will be a school year unlike any other, and I'll be relying heavily on our team's leadership to keep everyone motivated and positive. It was difficult to choose from all of the amazing candidates, and Terry and I believe having a committee of dancers will provide the most support during online learning and when we return. We hope you'll join us in congratulating the following ladies.
Dance Captain- Alicia Ulloa Works with coaches on choreography and instruction. Demonstrates complete mastery of all routines, drills, and technical movement and assists the team in learning those routines as well. Leads classes in warm-ups, review, and conditioning. Works with team captains and lieutenants to promote unity, discipline, and excellence within the team. Team Captain- Samantha Briones Maintains open communication with the captains, team, advisor, and coaches on all issues and/or problems. May run warm ups and review of routines. Works with the Dance Captain and Lieutenants in creating and planning team bonding activities, performances, fundraisers, and competitions. Decides on spirit wear and uniforms with the Dance Captain and Lieutenants. Communicates the needs of the whole team to both the advisor and coaches. Encourage team unity and discipline. Lieutenants- Brianna Tracey and Amanda Salcedo Supports the Dance Captain and Team Captain in any and all responsibilities. Responsible for documenting the school year with photos and videos for end of the year slideshow. Can be called on to run warm-ups or conditioning sessions. Primarily responsible for new members and freshmen, planning and coordinating activities to foster a welcoming atmosphere. Responsible for end of the year banquet. In charge of promoting dance team events with posters, social media, and GVTV. Acts as a liaison between dance team members and captains. Congratulations to all of you! Hello Grizzlies,
As summer winds down, it's time to start preparing for the school year. Please take a look at the items below and let me know if you have any questions. Dance Contract If you haven't already, please sign and return the dance contract for the 2020/2021 school year. You can find it here, or in your school email. Fees For the last few years, dance team tuition has been around $800. This year we're scaling it back and our spirit pack will be $300 per student to cover our coaching fees. Because it's unclear when we'll have performance opportunities due to COVID, I am holding off on purchasing uniforms or paying for any additional competition or performance fees that we'd normally budget for. If we find we need uniforms later this season, we'll purchase those on an as needed basis. I want to make this program as affordable and accessible as possible, and I understand some of us are in difficult economic circumstances this year. You can pay your tuition in full or make installments at the ASB web store here beginning in August. A schedule for August will be posted next week. Enjoy your last week of summer! Hello Grizzlies!
