Thank you to everyone who submitted for a leadership position within our team. Terry and I are very grateful to have so many motivated students. This will be a school year unlike any other, and I'll be relying heavily on our team's leadership to keep everyone motivated and positive. It was difficult to choose from all of the amazing candidates, and Terry and I believe having a committee of dancers will provide the most support during online learning and when we return. We hope you'll join us in congratulating the following ladies.
Dance Captain- Alicia Ulloa Works with coaches on choreography and instruction. Demonstrates complete mastery of all routines, drills, and technical movement and assists the team in learning those routines as well. Leads classes in warm-ups, review, and conditioning. Works with team captains and lieutenants to promote unity, discipline, and excellence within the team. Team Captain- Samantha Briones Maintains open communication with the captains, team, advisor, and coaches on all issues and/or problems. May run warm ups and review of routines. Works with the Dance Captain and Lieutenants in creating and planning team bonding activities, performances, fundraisers, and competitions. Decides on spirit wear and uniforms with the Dance Captain and Lieutenants. Communicates the needs of the whole team to both the advisor and coaches. Encourage team unity and discipline. Lieutenants- Brianna Tracey and Amanda Salcedo Supports the Dance Captain and Team Captain in any and all responsibilities. Responsible for documenting the school year with photos and videos for end of the year slideshow. Can be called on to run warm-ups or conditioning sessions. Primarily responsible for new members and freshmen, planning and coordinating activities to foster a welcoming atmosphere. Responsible for end of the year banquet. In charge of promoting dance team events with posters, social media, and GVTV. Acts as a liaison between dance team members and captains. Congratulations to all of you!

Mrs. Pollard has worked for the Hart District as an American Sign Language Interpreter for 20 years. Before that, she was the resident choreographer and children's theater director at Gold Coast Theater Conservatory in Thousand Oaks, CA.
